How do I get to know my fellow students, how does the library work, where are the lecture theatres, where is the dining hall, and how do I draw up my timetable?
Every year, the General Advisory Service and students in higher semesters stage a week-long programme for all new students, designed to familiarise you with the city and the university of Weimar, thereby ensuring you have a smooth start to your studies.
Are you already curious and keen to find out a bit more before you arrive in Weimar? We offer you the chance to find out about our university and studying in general in advance. Why not have a look at one of our online presentations?

Finding accommodation in Weimar
Attractive accommodation in the Studierendenwerk’s halls of residence
In Weimar, too, the Studierendenwerk Thüringen offers well-equipped housing in its own student halls of residence.
The rents are particularly attractive, averaging around €250 per month, which includes all service charges, including water, electricity and heating costs. Most of the flats are furnished and feature modern fitted kitchens.
Furthermore, the halls of residence are directly connected to the universities’ data networks. This means, for example, that online instructional content can be accessed from your own room round the clock.
Accommodation tutors help newly arrived international students to find their way around their new surroundings, the university facilities and the Studierendenwerk, as well as the city itself. Suitable accommodation is also available for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses, as well as for students with children.
Anyone interested can view an overview of the halls of residence online. Applications for vacant places are made directly through Studierendenwerk Thüringen.
