Structure with Nets

The approach was to explore how rigid structures can replace tense structures. Meshes or nets are usually attached at the corner points with ropes and tensioned, in order to give the textile a structure. I tried to translate this strained structureinto a fixed structure. As an abstract goal I had the design of a seating area made of solid structure and nets in mind. Since it was important to be able to determine how many seating areas (or open spaces for nets) would arise, I used Grasshopper to be able to determine the number of seats in my installation.

In this way, lines could be generated that finally led to the structure shown in the pictures, outputting a previously determined number of seats.
