Today we finally installed our 3.3 meter long structure beneath the ceiling. The traction force occurring on the top of the structure is held by a strong black yarn. During building the model, we used an elastic yarn (red) that allowed for bigger and more flexible moves. By applying tension to the yarn it is possible to influence the bending of the structure. The whole installation is mounted to the ceiling with only two pieces of yarn.
