Heritage Futures Lecture II: "Our soil, our heritage" How do we want to live in future?

Do you actually know what is happening under your feet? The thin layer of humus in the soil provides all the people in the world with food, clean drinking water and clean air. And it can save the climate. After all, healthy soils are the largest reservoir of greenhouse gases after the oceans and contribute significantly to reducing CO2. But to form ten centimetres of fertile soil, our planet needs more than 2,000 years. And yet we use our soils as if they were inexhaustible. This puts our food source at risk - from us humans! What does this mean for the future? How must agriculture, society change so that we can pass on a living world with living soils to our children?

The documentary film "Unser Boden, unser Erbe" shows how important and at the same time extremely threatened our basis of life, the soil, is. Director Marc Uhlig forcefully conveys why this precious resource deserves our greatest appreciation.

This event is part of the Bauhaus.Module "Heritage Futures - Time Capsule"
