At the professorship, we understand Acoustic Ecologies in an expanded sense as ecologies of perception and embodied knowledge.
We engage with ecological and systemic relationships through and within the acoustic world – with physical, analogue, digital and hybrid sound phenomena and their interactions.
In close collaboration with Experimental Radio and Electroacoustic Composition and Sound Art, the professorship forms the Sound focus of the Media Art and Design programme. The programme also shares substantial common ground with the focus areas Interaction, Design of Media Environments and Interface Design.
