Information on Language courses
The Language Centre offers a series of course modules which will enable you to reach and prove your competence at B2 and C1 levels. For details of the B2 and C1 course programmes, go to:

MASTER'S PROGRAMME IN COMPUTER SCIENCE FOR DIGITAL MEDIA
In order to reach and prove competence at C1 level, you will need to complete the course programme as outlined on the above webpage. The Language Centre also recognizes the courses Academic English Part I and Academic English Part II, which are offered exclusively at the Faculty of Media, as components of the C1 programme (2ECTS per course).
A special placement test is offered exclusively to students of the Faculty of Media.

To officially register your thesis, please send the completed and signed documents (signed by the student and the first examiner) to the responsible Examination Office: nadin.glaser@uni-weimar.de

The date of submission of the complete documents will be considered the official registration date and therefore marks the start of the thesis processing period.
After the Examination Office has verified the documents and the required academic achievements, you will receive an official confirmation of registration including the submission deadline by email.

Required Documents
By the official submission deadline, the following must be submitted to the Dean’s Office:
The digital version must be submitted on a data storage device (e.g. CD or USB drive).
Each copy must include a signed declaration of originality.
Earliest Submission Date
Early submission of the thesis is possible no earlier than halfway through the regular processing period.

Illness
If you need to extend the thesis processing period due to illness, a medical certificate must be submitted within three working days of issuance.
The form confirming examination incapacity due to illness can be found in the download section.
The processing period may be extended by the duration of the certified illness.
Application for Extension
Applications for an extension must be submitted to the Examination Committee at least four weeks before the official submission deadline.
The application can be submitted informally in writing, but must include a statement from the supervisor.
Re-enrolment in Case of Extension
If the extension exceeds the end of the semester, students must re-enrol for the following semester and independently submit the certificate of enrolment to the Examination Office.
The date of the thesis defense must be arranged independently with the thesis supervisors.
The Examination Office must be notified at least two weeks in advance (by e-mail to nadin.glaser@uni-weimar.de).
Degree documents are usually issued at the Dean’s Office.
When collecting the documents, please check the opening hours of the Examination Office / Dean’s Office to ensure that the office is staffed.
Typical office hours of the Dean’s Office:
Monday – Friday, 08:00 a.m. – 04:00 p.m.
Collection by an authorized representative is possible only with a written authorization.
If you participate in the Faculty of Media graduation ceremony in July, the documents can also be presented to you during the ceremony.

In exceptional cases, the documents may be sent by post if graduates confirm in writing (email is sufficient) that they are aware of the risks of postal delivery.
The written authorization for shipping must include the desired recipient address.
Documents are sent by registered mail and can therefore only be shipped within Germany.
If the documents are lost during postal delivery, no additional original documents can be issued.
In such cases, only a duplicate marked as such can be provided.
