In my first project with the SKO-computation, I tried to optimize a stereotypical object, a standard box used to store and transport many types of items. I first wanted to make it foldable, but postponed the idea very early in the process in favor of a more universal result.
The load is distributed over the whole surface at the bottom of the box and in case another one is stacked on top of it on the upper rim.
The results of the Calculations, were cage like structures with clear struts. I decided to use a medium loadable result as the base for my modellmaking.
I transferred the calculation results onto a CAD pipe model. It visualizes the most important struts of the cage.
Finally I build a stressable 1:1 working model out of PVC pipes and tape.
