Deutschlandstipendien

Scholarship holders and donors 2019 - HABAU Hoch- und Tiefbau GmbH and MKP GmbH (photo: Henry Sowinski)

Since winter semester 2011/12, the Deutschlandstipendium at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar supports excellent students who are expected to or have already produced outstanding work in their studies or professions and are registered at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (in accordance with StipG i. V. m. of StipV).

Funding:

  • Scholarship holders receive a financial allowance of 300 euros per month, regardless of their financial support and income.
  • The scholarship generally begins in April.
  • The scholarship is generally awarded for at least two semesters. As a rule, the scholarship generally runs until the end of the standard period of study at most. Pandemic-related extensions of up to two semesters according to § 6 para. 1 sentence 1 ThürCorHG are taken into account.

In summer semester 2022, thanks to the support of the following sponsors, the scholarships listed below have been awarded:

  • Ernst-Abbe-Stiftung: 3 scholarships
  • Thüringer Aufbaubank: 2 scholarships
  • Johannes-Alexander-Schroth-Stiftung: 2 scholarships
  • ENVISYS GmbH & Co. KG: 1 scholarship
  • Drees & Sommer SE: 1 scholarship
  • Marx Krontal Partner (MKP GmbH): 1 scholarship
  • Neufert-Stiftung: 1 scholarship
  • Deutschlandstipendienfonds (u.a. Isabel Bindan): 1 scholarship
  • Deutschlandstipendienfonds (Dr. Henrici & Prof. Koch): scholarship
  • Freundeskreis der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar e.V.: scholarship

The Deutschlandstipendienfonds is supported in 2022 by the following sponsors: Isabel Bindan, Prof. Dr. Christian Koch and Dr. Horst Henrici as well as the Freundeskreis der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar e.V..

The call for applications for 2023/24 is scheduled to start in November 2022, with an expected application deadline on 31 January 2023.

Criteria for awards

Criteria for awards (see StipG i. V. m. der StipV):

  • above-average academic performance and/or school leaving certification (if necessary, grades, prizes, awards)
  • previous employment or internships
  • community involvement (extra-curricular, professional: for example in organisations, clubs, volunteer work)
  • willingness to take on responsibility
  • special personal or family circumstances

Funding requirements

Scholarship recipients must be registered with the university when the funding starts, at the latest in April 2022. They declare that they are prepared to present further confirmation of aptitude and performance during the period of funding.

Whether parallel funding is permissible is determined by the amount and type of scholarship funding (see pdf). Anyone who already has funding for materials necessary for ability and academic work that pays €30 or more can not receive a Deutschlandstipendium (see FAQ Studierende).

Application documents

Please use the online application form with file upload for your application documents (in German or English).

Please upload your application (and accompanying documents, max. 15 MB) as one PDF file. The file name should include your first and last name. Please include the following documents in the order shown below:

  1. Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages)
  2. CV in tabular form
  3. Copy of school leaving certificate (higher education entrance qualification)
  4. if applicable: proof of above-average achievement in your course of study: overview of grades incl. grade point average (e.g. BISON print out or in form of a performance report by your faculty’s examination office)
  5. If available, diplomas of previous university degrees
  6. If available, proof of community involvement, prizes or other exceptional activities
  7. If available, proof / explanation of special personal or family circumstances and biographical hurdles such as caring for a child or relative, a disability or chronic illness, your parents' (educational) background, migration background, experience of discrimination, etc.

Selection process

The scholarship commission of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will select the scholarship recipients in March.

  • Attempts to deceive by applicants will lead to immediate exclusion from the application process. A further application is not possible in this case.
  • Decisions of the committee will not be justified towards the applicants due to the absolute confidentiality of the selection procedure.

These scholarships are subject to the availability of funds in the 2022/23 funding year.
