  • each scholarship: 450 euros/month for 12 months
  • funding period begins in April

Info

Scholarships 2025/26

  • Application deadlines: 15 January and 31 August 2025, if necessary
  • If not all scholarships are awarded in March, a new call for applications may be issued.

Regularly announced with a 2nd round on 31 August 2025:

  • Bauhaus Degree Completion Scholarships for students (3 months á 450 euros)

The general rules are:

  • Applications will only be considered if they are complete and on time for submission.
  • Applicants can apply in parallel for a maximum of 2 scholarship formats at the
Bauhaus-Universität Weimar at the same time.
  • An application can not be considered without a letter of recommendation.
  • There is no legal entitlement to the award of a scholarship.

Procedure

  • The first application deadline has ended on 15th of January 2025.
  • The scholarship commission usually decides in March.
  • The scholarships usually start in April.

For whom: awarding criteria

Scholarships are awarded to especially talented students of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (2nd semester or higher in bachelor’s, master’s, Diplom, state examination programmes) who have demonstrated above-average academic performance at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

Candidates must be enrolled in a course of study at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

In addition to excellent academic performance, the awards commission also considers the following criteria:

  • Interdisciplinarity of the candidate’s academic career and interests
  • Identification with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (sustainable and demonstrable commitment to the university, e.g. in committees and initiatives, as a tutor)
  • social aspects

Social aspects, biographical hurdles and the individual potential of students in their current life situation can be taken into account.

Funding requirements

Bauhaus Scholarships for students may not be awarded to candidates who are already receiving public funding, for example, through a DAAD scholarship. Exceptions are defined in the scholarship regulations (see MdU 58/2019)

Scholarship holders are only allowed to work in a part-time job according to the relevant regulations of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (MdU 30/2022, in German; may not exceed the respective applicable limit for "geringfügige Beschäftigungen/marginal employment)

The funding period of this 12-month scholarship format begins on 1 April.

Funding recipients are obliged to submit a final report.

In addition to the award criteria of academic performance, voluntary work/commitment and interdisciplinarity, social aspects, biographical hurdles and the individual potential of students in their current life situation can be taken into account.
