The Future of Construction: The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering to Participate in the »BAU 2025« Trade Fair

This year, »BAU 2025« is focussing on new technologies, materials, and potential applications – and this is just where the Faculty’s stand comes in. Digital models and smaller exhibits will offer insight into current research and highlight the multifaceted profile of civil and environmental engineering in Weimar. A short film will be screened and tells the story of what it’s like to study at the Faculty, as well as its main areas of research: digital engineering, sustainability and resources, materials and construction. And robot dog SPOT will also be on hand: providing an interactive introduction to the faculty's programmes, SPOT is sure to attract the attention of visitors.

An additional highlight is the »Auf IT gebaut« competition’s award ceremony, scheduled to take place on 14 January 2025 with jury member Prof. Christian Koch representing the Professorship of Intelligent Technical Design. One of the Faculty’s students has been nominated for this year's prize in the category of »Baubetriebswirtschaft«. Previous years have seen numerous Bauhaus-Universität Weimar students win awards.

The stand is coordinated by Prof. Jürgen Melzner, Professorship of Construction Management and Construction Engineering, and Michaela Abrecht, Office of Student and Academic Affairs. All those interested are invited to visit the trade fair and discover the opportunities at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
