Through the »BAUHAUS4EU« University Alliance, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has joined forces with nine European partner universities to work on solutions to regional, European, and global issues over the next four years. But how stable is this European project?
Will increasing political polarisation, in particular the shift to the right in many European member states, jeopardise the unification project - perhaps even signal the final chapter? Or is Europe so deeply-rooted as an identifying, integrative force that what we have in common overrides what divides us?
Prof. Dr. Benjamin-Immanuel Hoff, former Thuringian Minister of »Kultur, Bundes- und Europaangelegenheiten« (Berlin/Erfurt), Jr. Prof. Dr. Daniela Zupan, Junior Professor for European Cities and Urban Heritage at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, and Dr. Christian Kästner, International Office, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, have all been invited to the event. Together, they will discuss the potential of European university networks such as BAUHAUS4EU, political and social tensions, and the question of what will continue to hold Europe together in the future. The event will be moderated by Carsten Tesch, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk.
