The F. A. Finger Institute for Building Materials Science at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is pleased to host the 22nd International Conference on Building Materials in September 2026 again after three years of waiting.
This long-standing event aims to bring together researchers from academia and professionals from industry across Europe to promote knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of building materials.
The main topics of ibausil with more than 300 papers are:

- recycling and resources building
- materials for walls, ceilings and floors

The citable contributions of the 21st International Conference on Building Materials ibausil in 2023 were published digitally as a special edition of ce/papers via the publishing house Ernst & Sohn. The articles can be downloaded here.
Abstract Submission
The F. A. Finger Institute for Building Materials Science at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar cordially invites you to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations and to help shape the future of building materials technology.
Please submit your abstract using this form.
The maximum length is 300 words and the abstract must be written in English or German.
The submission deadline is 31 October 2025.
Please ensure that your abstract is complete and meets the requirements outlined in the call.
No changes will be accepted after the deadline.
When submitting your abstract, you can choose between the following options:

Your full paper will be published digitally as a ce/paper by Wiley and made publicly accessible under the Open Access model, subject to your approval.
ibausil's history
By establishing the International Conference on Building Materials "ibausil" in 1964 an international forum for the exchange of scientific views was created. One aim of the conference has always been to bring researchers from universities and industrial enterprises, from the east and the west, together in the geographical centre of Europe.
As in the past, the main emphasis is put on problems of the development and application of building materials. An accompanying exhibition of products and procedures will also take place. In addition, the organizers intend to offer special excursions on the last day of the conference.
The variety of sights in and around Weimar and the impressive cultural heritage and contemporary works of art will make your stay in the "European city of culture 1999" pleasant and worthwhile.
