With the SPORT-STEM Scholarship, funded by the Weimar Engineers’ Association (Interessengemeinschaft Weimarer Ingenieure), the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar supports students from the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Computer Science and Media who, alongside their studies, demonstrate above-average sporting achievements and/or commitment to sport.
The SPORT-STEM Scholarship is intended to enable students to pursue a degree programme in the STEM degree programmes at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar whilst also participating in competitive sport. The call for applications is issued in accordance with the Scholarship Regulations at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (MdU 58/2019 in conjunction with MdU 30/2022).
A letter of acceptance for a study program at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar must be available at the time of application or must be submitted as soon as possible thereafter. Scholarship holders must enrol at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar by the start of the funding period in October 2026.

When awarding scholarships, in addition to academic merit and the eligibility criteria mentioned above, particular consideration is given to demonstrable involvement in sport. The Scholarship Commission at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will decide on the award of scholarships in September 2026, based on a proposal from the Weimar Engineers’ Association.
Any attempts by the apllicants to mislead the committee will result in immediate exclusion from the process. In such cases, the applicants will not be permitted to reapply. Due to the strictly confidential nature of the selection process, the committee will not provide the applicants with the reasons for its decisions.
Selection is subject to the availability of funding.
