On October 1, 2024, Nikolaus Seitz took over the position of Junior Professor (W1 with tenure track) for Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer at the Bauhaus University Weimar. The professorship is part of the Built Environment Institute (B-M-I) and complements the business management program of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering with key aspects of strategic innovation and technology management, as well as entrepreneurship.
Previously, Nikolaus Seitz was an Academic Councilor and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Augsburg, as well as co-founder and managing director of the Augsburg Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE), the University of Augsburg's business start-up center. Between 2019 and 2022, he was the interim professor of International Management at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Nikolaus Seitz studied business administration at the University of Augsburg, where he received his doctorate in 2018.
His research focuses on the interface between strategic entrepreneurship and technology transfer. His work has been published in leading international journals, including Small Business Economics and The Journal of Technology Transfer. He also serves as a reviewer for numerous renowned academic journals.
Nikolaus Seitz is a Research Fellow at the Paul H. O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Bloomington and at the CisAlpino Institute for Comparative Studies at the Universities of Augsburg and Bergamo. In 2022, he was awarded the Viermetz Science Prize by the University of Augsburg.
As a certified coach (university) and active startup mentor, he accompanies and supports numerous founding teams in various accelerator programs and incubators. He also advises companies and cities on digital transformation and sustainability projects.
