With his open, courageous and socially engaged personality, Simon Walter Weller (formerly Gaede) not only impressed his lecturers, he also won over the expert panel of this renowned real estate prize in the »Student of the Year« category. »Whether through his various activities as the former president of the Rotaract Club Weimar, his fundraising record as Sponsoring Manager for the largest dance event in the greater Braunschweig area, or his commitment as a school and then degree programme representative, Simon Walter Weller completely won us over with his down-to-earth attitude, his genuine interest in society and his exceptional eye for detail«, the panel explained when granting the award.  

His academic career also played a role in the decision: Simon Walter Weller has been looking scientifically at real estate topics as part of the »Management [Bau Immobilien Infrastruktur]« degree programme since his third semester. His Bachelor’s thesis entitled »Affordability and apartment prices in Germany. A case of population distribution« was supervised by Dr. Annette Kämpf-Dern (Acting Professor of Real Estate Industry and Management at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar until September 2019). The engineer entered the real estate competition on her recommendation. Simon Walter Weller has been working on his Master’s degree in Management at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar since October 2019.
