HUMANITARIAN DESIGN - RAINWATER COLLECTION IN NORTH UGANDA´S IDP / REFUGEE CAMPS
Als Grundlage für das Projekt diente die „Rethink Relief“ Konferenz, die vom Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) organisiert wird, und 2014 in Uganda stattfand.
Hier kommen Empfänger und Bereitsteller von humanitärer Hilfe, Institutionen und interdisziplinäre Teilnehmer aus 16 Ländern zusammen.
Das Ergebnis ist u.a. ein Verbinder für Plastikplanen, der das sechsfache einer normalen Öse hält. Er dient dazu eine große Plane zu spannen, die Regenwasser einsammelt und Schatten spendet.
The „Rethink Relief“ conference by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is the basis of this project and took place in Uganda. At this event providers and recipents of humanitarian aid, national and international institutions and interdisciplinary participants from 16 countries come together.
The result is e.a. a connector for plastic sheeting which holds more than six times of what an common eyelet does. It´s used to hold a plastic tarpaulin to collect rainwater and to spend shade.
