Students from the »TEXTIL HAND WERT« project have taken an appreciative look at handmade craftsmanship. From knitting, to sewing, embroidering, and weaving: Students have learned more than the traditional techniques in their specialist course, they have also questioned the value of handmade materials and pieces in an increasingly automated world. The collaboratively created pieces will not just be on display – they will also be up for auction on Saturday, 8 February, at 4 pm. Bidders beware: It’s not just about the price – it’s also about the value. (Location: »Glasauge« in the courtyard behind the Van de Velde Building)
Film lovers will get their money’s worth at Movie Night. The student film initiative invites you to the Maurice-Halbwachs-Auditorium in the University Library. A selection of motion picture works from various degree programmes will be screened. The event will be moderated and include a short Q&A session with the filmmakers.
Students from the »Design for Robotic Assembly« scientific module will be presenting the results of their work in the new D-LAB. During the course, aspiring designers, civil engineers, and architects explored innovative approaches to designing and implementing robotic-assisted processes. The possibilities for robotic variability and precision will be shown in a live demonstration where a robotic arm will continuously stack miniature building blocks. (Location: D–LAB, Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 13)
