The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has set itself the goal of “[preparing] its graduates for the challenges of the global labour market and [shaping] personalities whose thoughts and actions are not restricted by national or economic interests”.(cf. Internationalisation Strategy of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar)
This also requires specific, interdisciplinary transfer competence:intercultural sensitivity and competence as well as international context knowledge are among the most important key competences both on campus and later on in our graduates’ professional lives in an increasingly networked and globalised world.
The Intercultural Competence project is part of the BMBF-funded Studium.Bauhaus project currently being developed under the motto of “Sustainable.Intercultural.Education”. The aim is to systematically develop and expand intercultural training offers at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in order to strengthen intercultural competence in the long term as a future-oriented key skill.
