PHOTO COMPETITION 2020/21
Every two years the International Office and the University Communications department of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar hold a photo competition. All students who have studied or completed an internship abroad and international students who have come to Weimar can take part.
In the past two years there were major restrictions due to the pandemic, and many students had to postpone or even break off their stay abroad. For this reason was called until November 2020 for contributions under the motto »YEARNING ...« - for the distance, for encounters and experiences in other countries, with other people and cultures.
A jury made up of representatives from the four faculties as well as the President's Office, University Communications, Institutional Development and the International Office selected a pre-selection from almost 100 submissions and the winners. The shortlisted photographs will be presented in an online exhibition (see below). Until mid-January 2021, a global audience could participate in an online vote for the audience award.
In October 2021, the 33 photos selected by the jury could now also be presented in an exhibition in the university library. Here, too, it was again possible to cast a vote for the audience favorite. Although the exhibition had to be ended prematurely due to the pandemic, there was again a very good response.
