From 01.12.2021, the Bauhaus Research School offers individual coaching for doctoral candidates, postdocs and junior professors.
For doctoral candidates
During your doctorate, you may face a variety of challenges and issues that delay or endanger the success of your research or artistic/creative work.
In such situations, coaching can help you to develop new perspectives and strategies for the project. The goal-oriented and solution-oriented coaching supports you in developing and implementing individual solutions.
For Postdocs and Juniorprofessors
In the Postdoc phase, strategic career decisions become increasingly important for the development of a scientific and artistic profile. More specialized career biographies always require individual and creative solutions.
Coaching supports you in your personal career issues, in transition processes and in dealing with challenging decisions.
General Conditions
- All information and contents of the conversation are as a matter of course treated confidentially.
- You can receive advice in German and English.
- If required, online coaching is also possible.
- You will receive a time allotment of 5 coaching hours, which you can use individually for one or more coaching topics.
- The coaching is to be completed within 6 months.
Possible coaching topics
- Overcoming difficulties in writing the doctoral thesis or research project (writing coaching).
- Constructive handling of conflicts
- Self-management in day-to-day doctoral or research work
- Clarification and strengthening of one's own role
- Stress management, burn-out prophylaxis, dealing with stressful situations
- Crisis intervention
- Preparation for challenging situations and dealing with change
- Dealing with biographical transitions, e.g. study/doctorate/Postdoc phase
Procedure
- Register for a coaching session using the online form below.
- In an initial meeting, we will clarify your specific concerns and the further course of the coaching together.
- We will then put you in touch with coaches who have expertise in science and can address your specific concerns and topics in a targeted manner.
- Participation in the coaching is documented by you and the coach. After completion of the coaching, a short evaluation meeting will take place and you will receive a confirmation of participation if required.
