From 22 May to 11 June 2021, Stadtradeln will take place in Weimar this year. The Chair of Transport System Planning is not only participating in the competition again this year with its own team, but is also sending Julius Uhlmann into the race as Stadtradeln Star.
Elf Teilnehmende aus Berlin, Bayern, Baden-Württemberg, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern und Rheinland-Pfalz starten in diesem Jahr in den Zertifikatslehrgang zur/m Sicherheitsauditor*in für Außerortsstraßen und Ortsdurchfahrten, welcher von der Professur Verkehrssystemplanung sowie der Bauhaus Weiterbildungsakademie organisiert wird. Growing traffic volumes are the cause of gridlocked traffic and traffic jams, especially in large cities and conurbations. Other consequences are environmental pollution, especially from carbon dioxide, particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. The municipalities control traffic in order to keep the adverse effects on road users and residents as low as possible. Often there is a lack of reliable data and data exchange between the various actors. The mFUND project SCHOOL (Strategy Change through Open Data Oriented Solutions) has taken on this challenge and is now reaching its conclusion.
