7. Ephemeral Encounters – Queer ephemera archive in the library
As part of Campus Pride Week and summaery 2025, the University Library presents the exhibition »Ephemeral Encounters«. This exhibition was developed in the seminar Queering Spaces under the direction of Carsten Saeger. Drawing on José Esteban Muñoz’s concept of Ephemera as Evidence, several works are displayed in transparent acrylic boxes and enter into a direct dialogue with the library’s collection. The exhibition brings together artistic contributions that make queer knowledge and personal experiences visible.
An exhibition leaflet is available at the entrance of the University Library. A guided tour of the exhibition with Carsten Saeger will take place on Friday, July 11, at 4 PM. Meeting point: Entrance of the University Library.
8. Exhibition Opening: Photographs of Artists‘ Books
»RE-PROCESS« is a visual approach to different forms of documentation. In what ways can photography offer a renewed perspective on publications that have already undergone a process of creation? What are the standards for documentation? Where do they originate? As we took on a haptic approach and getting to know the material in a different way our process was shaped by curiosity and intuition. Following all qualities present in the visual material, we created this reproduction collaboratively. The content refers to the special collection of artists‘ books at the library of the Bauhaus University in Weimar and were realsied during a course. The photographs were taken by three participants of the course.
Opening of the Exhibition: Wednesday, 9.7., 5pm, Steubenstr. 6, Upper foyer of the University Library (near BibLounge)
