In our class ''Filesavvy'' we'll look at files and their anatomy. By deconstructing them we will introduce what is called glitch. The aesthedics of file corruption emerged when badly encoded videos of pirated movies were downloaded from filesharing sites. It may be seen as the digital equivalent of a noisy VHS tape. Datamoshing became mainstream when Kanye West used it a music clip and since is a popular meme and visual expression of the internet culture. | |||
