Barry L. Roshto (*1958, Louisiana, USA) lebt in Bonn, wo er eine Stelle als Dozent für Klavier und Komposition an der städtischen Musikschule innehält. Seine akademische Ausbildung reicht von dem B.A. in the Performing Arts (Klavier und Gesang) sowie B.Mus. in Komposition in den USA bis hin zu Kompositionsunterricht in Köln bei Bojidar Dimov. Nach einer Zeit in Bonn als Student der Musikwissenschaft und Phonetik schloss er 2002 mit dem M.Mus (with distinction) in Komposition für Neue Medien an der London College of Music und Media ab. Neben seinen pädagogischen Aufgaben in Bonn, die auch in den Bereich Neue Medien hineinreichen, komponiert er Konzert- und Filmmusik, schafft audio-visuelle Installationen sowie Animationen, die im In- und Ausland ausgestellt werden. Seit Sommer 2009 arbeitet er zusammen mit Ursel Quint als Medienkunst Duo Snowkrash, das Untersuchungen in der Beziehung zwischen Bild und Klang unternimmt.
Seine Arbeit beschäftigt sich zunehmend mit elektromagnetischen Feldern, deren Aufspürung in der urbanen Umgebung und dem Prozess ihrer akustischen Erfahrbarkeit, um sie dann als Material in audio-visuelle Performances zu integrieren.

Barry L. Roshto (*1958, Louisiana, USA) lives in Bonn where he teaches piano and composition at the municipal music conservatory. His academic training includes a B.A. in the performing arts (piano and voice) and a B.Mus. in composition earned in the US. In Europe he had composition lessons with Bulgarian composer Bojidar Dimov, and continued his studies in musicology and phonetics at the University in Bonn. In 2002 he completed a M.Mus. (with Distinction) in Composing for New Media from the London College of Music and Media. In addition to his pedagogical activities, which also include projects in the area of new media, he composes music for concert and film, produces audio-visual installations and animations that are shown internationally. Since the summer of 2009 he has been working in a collaborative project with Ursel Quint as the Media Art Duo Snowkrash, which concerns itself primarily with the relationship of image and sound.
His recent work shows a growing interest in electromagnetic phenomenon. He scans the urban environment for interesting electromagnetic fields which can be sonified and subsequently used as material in his audio-visual performances.
