Small, but great - that’s Weimar. The city, which lies on the Ilm River, scores major points for its arts and culture scene, making you want to join in on pub crawls and parties, but also take strolls and have picnics in Weimar’s beautiful parks. Rent is affordable, the city is walkable and the student initiatives are creative. In Weimar, everyone knows each other and you’ll run into friends everywhere you go thanks to the centrally located university buildings in the city and by the park.
With the Kulturticket and Deutschlandsemesterticket, which are included in the semester fee, you can visit the programme at the Deutsches Nationaltheater and the exhibitions at the institutions of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and explore Thuringia by train and bus.
Whether you decide to start your studies living in a flat with roommates, student residence or your own flat - for anyone who is looking for a place to call home, or even just furniture, we recommend regularly checking our Housing/Accommodation Message Board.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
