The Chair for Transport System Planning is offering a position, starting immediately, for a Student/Research Assistant for tasks related to the upcoming implementation of an online-course on transportation planning for the non-degree study programme „Sustainable Transportation Planning“ with ca. 30 working hours per month (according to agreement).
On January 13th and 14th, the final attendance phase and thus the completion of the current Certificate Course "Road Safety Audit – Auditors for Rural Roads and Cross-Town Roads" took place at the Chair of Transport System Planning.
From 04 to 05 December 2019 the annual road safety conference "Vision Zero for Sustainable Road Safety in Baltic Sea Region" took place in Tallinn (Estonia). The Chair of Traffic System Planning was represented with two presentations.
During the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in the Audimax of the BUW on Saturday (9.11.19) Dipl.-Ing. Raimo Harder handed over the award of the Vereinigung der Straßenbau- und Verkehrsingenieure Thüringen (VSVI) to the two award winners Mrs. B.Sc. Rebekka Kramm and Mrs. M.Sc. Sandra Hübner for their outstanding theses.
How can the way to school be made safer for the children of the Martin-Luther-Grundschule in Eisenberg? Lena Klopfstein (B.Sc.) dealt with this question as part of her student research project at the Chair of Transport System Planning. First approaches have already been taken up by the city administration, as local media report.
In the midth of October, the Chair of Transport System Planning in the person of MSc Johannes Vogel accepted an invitation from the partner university in Györ to Hungary. Mr Vogel held two guest lectures on road safety at the Szechenyi Istvan University in Györ on 14th and 15th October, before he gave a lecture on the training of road safety auditors in Germany at the 3rd Hungarian Transport Conference on 16th October.
From spring 2020, innovative products and services in the fields of mobility, logistics and energy will be developed and tested under real conditions in Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia, with the aid of artificial intelligence. An interdisciplinary consortium led by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the bauhaus-Universität Weimar and INNOMAN GmbH has successfully participated in the >>KI-Innovationswettbewerb<< of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy. With a project volume of around 20 million euros, the >>Bauhaus.MobilityLab<< is to become a beacon of mobility and energy revolution over the next three years.
For the courses "International Case Studies", "Macroscopic Transport Modelling" and "Mobility as a Service" a special application system is in operation

Students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering spent four informative days in and around Hamburg. On the excursion organized by b.is, they gained insights into the practice of recycling management, urban development in HafenCity, resources and energy use.
From 07th until 13th July 2019 the Chair of Traffic System Planning participated again in the international workshop "City & Traffic", which took place this year at its 24th edition in Krakow (Poland).
On 24 June 2019, this year's certificate course for road safety auditors for motorways, rural roads and through roads was started. It is organized by the Chair of Traffic System Planning and the Bauhaus Further Education Academy.
Am 21.06.2019 stellte die Thüringer Umweltministerin Anja Siegesmund den "Masterplan Elektromobilität für Thüringen 2030" vor, welcher von der Professur Verkehrsystemplanung zusammen mit der FH Erfurt entwickelt wurde.
On 6th and 7th June 2019 the 4th Conference “Practical Issues of Road Safety” took place in Lagów (Poland). Mr Johannes Vogel as representative of the Chair of Transport System Planning held a presentation about “Traffic accidents as a result of deficits in planning and design in urban areas” and also received a letter of honor on behalf of the former head of the chair, Mr Ulrich Brannolte.
