1. Which courses are offered by the Bauhaus Spring School?

  • The Bauhaus Spring School offers a diverse & annually changing programme of specialized courses.

2. Who can take part in the Bauhaus Spring School?

  • Student from the Erasmus partner universities. Click on "suchen" in order to see the complete list.
  • There are a limited number of places for external students. 

3. How much is the course fee?

  • Participation in Spring School is covered for the nominated students from the partner universities through the Erasmus Blended Intensive Programmes scholarship.
  • Participation for external students costs 300 €.

 

4. How and where can I register/apply for a course?

The course registration takes place directly on the course page.

5. When is the registration/application deadline?

  • Deadline for 2024 is 01.12.2023

 

6. How can I apply for a BIP scholarship?

 The scholarship application is made with the course application. Please submit a nomination letter from your home university together with your application. After you have received the acceptance letter for the course, you should contact your home universitiy directly for further steps.

7. What does the scholarship include?

  • Scholarship amounts vary. The scholarship covers travel expenses, course fees and residence. For the exact amount, please contact your home university. 

8. When can I cash out my scholarship?

  • The payment is processed via the home university.

9. How long does a course take place?

  • The online phase depends on the course you choose. Further information can be found on the individual course-pages. The in-class phase will take place 14.03-23.03.2024

10. Will I receive a certificate?

  • Yes: You will receive a certificate upon successful participation. You will find the conditions in the respective course description.
  • in case of doubt, please ask your teacher at the beginning of the course which requirements must be met.

11. Will I get credit points (ECTS) for attending a course?

  • Yes, 3 ECTS

12. Will I get a grade?

  • No, not automatically. However, it is possible. If you would like to receive a grade, you must discuss this with your teacher at the beginning of the course.

13. Who is the contact person during the course time?

  • During the whole course you will be supervised by at least one lecturer.
  • And of course you can always contact the Spring School Team at any time - we will be happy to help you with all possible concerns!

14. Where can I get information about free time activities?

  • Some of the acitivities we organise can be found on our website. At the beginning of the Bauhaus Spring School, every participant will receive the programme booklet including an overview of all events.

15. Will I have access to sports facilities?

  • Sure! During the Bauhaus Spring School, you can work out at the University Sports Centre.
  • There is also a swimming pool in Weimar and numerous beautiful parks that invite you to go jogging.

16. Are there any extra costs for the leisure activities?

  • Participation in the Spring School-social program is included in the Service Package, which can be booked for €70.
  • Your participant ID is your golden ticket: It will get you into all museums and houses of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar free of charge! And you can visit the film programme of the cinema mon ami, which was put together especially for the Spring School - for free!

17. How can I explore Weimar?

  • Weimar is a small city - which means that luckily many things can be easily reached by foot.
  • In case you don't want to walk: With your participant ID you can use the Weimar city buses free of charge. Here you can find details on network and timetable: bus timetables.
  • And if you neither want to walk nor take the bus: The bicycle rental Grüne Liga Weimar rents out bicycles at reasonable prices.

18. What is the weather like in Weimar (Thuringia) in March?

  • In one word: incalculable! Usually but it varies a lot - between 2-15°C, anything is possible. In the evening it often gets fresh. So you are best prepared for all eventualities: with warm clothes and rainwear.

19. How much pocket money will I need for the duration of the course?

  • This is difficult to estimate, as individual needs vary. In comparison to other German cities, life in Weimar is quite affordable. You can find an overview of the average cost of living for rough orientation here: Cost of living in Weimar.
