In the last Pd convention, a computer music book in Portuguese with examples in Pd was presented as a paper talk. As an outcome of this work, a new didactic material was produced in both Portuguese and English only as Pd Patches. Based on this new version, a workshop was presented at Piksel10 on Spectral Analysis/Processing. The tutorial is designed for beginners, it covers the basics of digital audio, synthesis, and is a nice introduction to spectral analysis in an accessible way. It covers well how FFT works and processing such as Spectral Shiffting, Convolution, Cross Synthesis, Vocoder, and Phase Vocoder. These are the main topics that will be covered in the workshop.

The objective of this workshop is to cover the basics of Pure Data and introduce to Spectral Analysis and Processing. Participants will be provided with a good didactic material, and will also be provided with some patches ready for usage, such as the Phase  Vocoder Abstractions provided by the author, as well as other examples from the other topics. Participants should bring their own laptops with PureData already installed.

In the last Pd convention, a computer music book in Portuguese with examples in Pd was presented as a paper talk. As an outcome of this work, a new didactic material was produced in both Portuguese and English only as Pd Patches. And besides the contents of computer music theory on the tutorial, another Pure Data tutorial concerning Pd’s syntax and elements with about 200 patches was also developed in both languages.
