The Bauhaus Form & Function Lab (BFFL) is a research lab dedicated the development and production of 2D and 3D functional prototypes for tangible, pervasive and embodied interaction. Funded by EFRE and the Free State of Thuringia, the BFFL provides a platform for integrating additive and subtractive manufacturing processes with emerging and experimental technologies such as printed electronics and 3D-MID.

The BFFL is equipped to support the following processes:

  • 3D-MID: LPKF ProtoLaser 3D
  • Silk-screened Printed Electronics: Thieme 510
  • Inkjet Printed Electronics: Fuji Dimatix
  • FDM 3D Printing: German RepRap X350, Prusa i3 MK3S
  • 3D Laser Scanning: Roland LPX
  • 4-axis CNC Milling: Roland MDX-540A
  • Laser Cutting: Epilog Fusion M2
  • Vinyl Cutter: Summa
  • SMD Component Placement: SmartSMT
  • Chemical Lab for Metalization
