GMU:Design transformations based on forms taken from nature: Difference between revisions

The aim of this course is to introduce the sketching and 3D modeling techniques used in product design, which allow the creation of new products. The course will create 3D shapes, the initial starting point of which is forms found in nature. The created shapes are not yet products, but they can be further developed into products. This course will not address the questions of who the product is intended for, where it is used, or what the production technologies or materials are. The main focus is on creating a new sculptural form.

Veiko Liis is a product designer who studied at the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn, Estonia. For more than 10 years he has designed and developed furniture, electronic devices and packaging in a small design studio in Estonia. Veiko has been leading design workshops with students and professionals. He has collaborated with several Estonian magazines, newspapers and publishers and developed illustrations and comic strips for them. Veiko has lived and worked also in Nantes, France and in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Since 2015 he is based in Berlin where he works as a freelancer designer and illustrator.
