Driving through the state Thuringia a person probably noticed different mining dumps, whereas the potash mining dumps are the most prevalent. But a dump like this is only a part of the actual potash factory. The mining, processing and manufacture of potash was one of the most important industries in Thuringia, as well as in the entirety East Germany. Nowadays there are only two factories still that still produce potash in the east of Germany. In Thuringia there are none.
