Description
From August 8th to 14th the Pure Data convention 2011, a festival for programmed music and arts will take place in Weimar. Pure Data is a data-flow programming language for musicians and artists. The convention brings together developers and users of the creative software. It will be the fourth meeting of the community after Graz in 2004, Montreal in 2007 and São Paulo in 2009. The university and the Liszt School of Music are the hosting institutions. The Event consists of a conference, workshops, concerts, performances and an exhibition. Organizing this event is a effort which involves many different tasks to be coordinated. In this course we will collaboratively seek to organize and enhance the festival. Each participant will take responsibility for a small segment of the festival. Funding, lodging, travel coordination, reception, documentation, exhibition planning and other tasks need careful preparation. The class will assemble a small but dedicated group of creative students. Be part of the team!

Vom 8. bis 14 August wird die Pure Data convention 2011, ein Festival für Programmierte Musik und Kunst in Weimar stattfinden. Pure Data ist eine Patcher-Programmiersprache für Musiker und Künstler. Die Convention bringt Entwickler und Anwender dieser kreativen Software zusammen. Die Community trifft sich damit zum vierten mal nach Graz in 2004, Montreal in 2007 und São Paulo in 2009. Die Universität und die Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt werden die gastgebenden Institutionen Weimars sein. Die Veranstaltung besteht aus einer Konferenz, Workshops Konzerten und Performances sowie einer Ausstellung. Die Organisation dieses Events besteht aus vielen unterschiedlichen koordinierten Einzelaufgaben. Jeder Teilnehmer dieses Moduls wird für einen überschaubaren Teilbereich des Festivals Verantwortung übernehmen. Funding, Unterbringung, Reisekoordination, Empfang und Teilnehmerbetreuung, Dokumentation, Ausstellungsplanung und andere Aufgaben verlangen genaue Planung und Durchführung. Im Modul versammeln wir eine kleine aber engagierte Gruppe motivierter Studenten. Sei Teil unseres Teams!
Konferenzssprache ist Englisch, deshalb wird flüssiges Englisch vorausgesetzt. Auch die Unterrichtssprache des Kurses wird Englisch sein, es sei denn alle Teilnehmer sprechen Deutsch.
