Simon Surjasentana studiert seit 2016 im Studiengang Freie Kunst an der Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung. Um sein Studium zu finanzieren, arbeitet er halbtags auf der Intensivstation des Sophien- und Hufelandklinikums Weimar. Die Eindrücke als Pfleger verarbeitet er in seiner Malerei, die ab 7. Juli 2022 in einer Einzelausstellung im Thüringer Landtag zu sehen sein wird.
What do smart materials and artificial intelligence have to offer when it comes to sustainable and modern transport infrastructure? From 30 June to 1 July 2022, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will be hosting nearly 70 experts from the industry and academia to a professional forum discussion at »mon ami« in Weimar. Best practice examples and the latest results from initial research will be presented.
Seven artists from the Faculty of Art and Design who combine their work with practical and/or academic research will be presenting their work in the »Spooky Action« exhibition at the »nova space« temporary gallery in Erfurt starting on Wednesday, 29 June 2022. The exhibition is part of the SAR International Conference on Artistic Research, which will take place from 30 June to 3 July 2022 at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Arbeiten von gleich drei Studierenden der Visuellen Kommunikation, Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung, sind unter die 29 besten Plakate des Wettbewerbs gewählt wurden, der unter dem Motto »Campusleben digital« ausgeschrieben war. Einen zweiten Platz belegte Hanyi Kim mit ihrem Plakat »Studying at Home«. Weitere Auszeichnungen erhielten Leela Dutta für »Hinter den Kulissen« und Hannes Naumann mit seinem Plakat »Im Fenster«.
After two years of pandemic, this year’s annual exhibition Ucan finally once again take place on the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar campus. From 14 to 17 July 2022, studios, workrooms and seminar rooms will be transformed into exhibition spaces and visitors invited to learn more about the projects completed by the four faculties and their departments in the current academic year.
The first »Campus Pride Week« will be held from 20 to 26 June 2022 at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar on the occasion of »Christopher Street Day (CSD) Weimar«. Throughout this week, sexual and gender diversity will be celebrated on campus and the spotlight will be on queer art and culture. The diverse programme invites people to engage with the complex realities that queer people encounter and offers the opportunity for exchanges and interactions, as well as spaces for networking and strengthening queer communities on campus.
Which strategies and tools can help us to work in a more environmentally friendly way? Which initiatives and research projects are committed to sustainability in research, writing and publishing? And how does a library become more ecological? The 8th Long Night of Academic Writing will take place at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar on 23 June 2022 from 6 pm until midnight. With its motto of »writing for future«, it aims to raise awareness for greater sustainability in everyday writing and research. Visitors are invited to take advantage of the more than 20 different offers in German and English to inform themselves, try things out and discuss these, both in person and online.

Orienting yourself in public spaces is a piece of cake with map services and city models. But how can floor plans and the interior data of buildings be automatically integrated? This is the question currently being investigated by Dr. Helga Tauscher, associate professor for Computing in Civil Engineering at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The preliminary study of the »Levelout« project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure as a part of the mFUND innovation initiative with a total of 95,000 euros over the course of one year until March 2023.

Am 5. Juni 2022 können die Welterbestätten in Deutschland wieder digital und vor Ort erkundet werden. Unter dem Motto »50 Jahre Welterbekonvention: Erbe erhalten – Zukunft gestalten« rücken die 51 deutschen Welterbestätten die Bedeutung sowie die Wirkung des weltweit bekannten Schutzinstruments für das Kultur- und Naturerbe in den Mittelpunkt. Mit dabei ist auch die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, die mit zwei besonderen Welterbe-Spaziergängen auf den Spuren des frühen Bauhauses in Weimar wandelt.
Das Programm der vom 30. Juni bis 3. Juli 2022 an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar stattfindenden Tagung der Society for Artistic Research (SAR) steht fest. Beim diesjährigen Nachwuchswettbewerb des ADC wurde die Masterarbeit »Man störe mir meine Kreise nicht« von Masihne Rasuli mit einem Silbernen Nagel prämiert. Weitere drei Auszeichnungen für Publikationen gingen an Leela Dutta für »Die Nachtwachtel«, an Annika Daub, Hanna Hofmann und Simon Geistlinger für »Drei Esel, Sizilien« sowie an Leoni Hommel, Emily Grawitter, Johanna Mehner, Hannah Röbisch und Lina Unger für »Type & Feminisms«.
Zum vierten Mal hat die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar am 25. Mai 2022 ihren Tag des Lehrens und des Lernens organisiert. The European Union has called for the consideration of just these questions together with attendees of the festival taking place in June as part of its New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. As an official partner of the NEB, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will host an »Ideenlabor« on Friday, 10 June 2022, and invites all interested parties to come discuss, inspire and experiment.

From 24 to 26 June 2022, sound theorists and artists will come together at the Faculty of Art and Design at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar for the international conference »I am not sitting in a room - urban, political and social resonances«. Together they will explore urban, political and social spaces on a sonic level in three thematic blocks. The interdisciplinary conference will focus on the question of how our environment would change if we were to shape it based on what we hear.
Die Betonkanu-Regatta 2022 steht vor der Tür, auch die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar mischt wieder mit. Zeit für einen Testlauf! 27 Studierende haben zwei einzigartige Boote aus Beton konzipiert und gestaltet, welche am Mittwoch, 1. Juni, ab 13.30 Uhr im Schwanseebad Weimar öffentlich getauft und zu Wasser gelassen werden. Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen!
Am Mittwoch, 25. Mai 2022, organisiert die Bauhaus-Universität Weimar zum vierten Mal den Tag der Lehre und des Lernens. Einen Nachmittag lang diskutieren und reflektieren Universitätsangehörige Lehr- und Lehrformate ihrer Universität und tauschen sich über aktuelle und zukünftige Entwicklungsvorhaben aus.
Der Tag der Lehre und des Lernens ist mittlerweile eine etablierte Plattform für Diskurse, Einblicke und Experimente rund um Studium, Lernen und Lehren an der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Am Donnerstag, 19. Mai 2022, lädt das bauhaus-institut für experimentelle architektur (bauhaus.ifex) der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar zu seiner Jahreskonferenz ein. Thematisch widmet sich das Kolloquium Fragen der städtischen Mobilität und der nachhaltigen Architektur.
