Mapping is not only a visual practice of territorial or spatial representation or a tool for navigation—it is a way of constructing knowledge, defining and controlling space, and marking power and resistance. This course critically examines cartographic thought, exploring colonial legacies, indigenous alternatives, and radical cartographies. Students will engage in critical and practical mapping to explore Weimar’s spatial narratives through counter-mapping exercises.
