Büro für Unabwägbarkeiten

Urp1.jpg

english version:

The urban research performance took place during Plan08 in Köln, September 2008.
Four people were living and working during a period of one week on a fallow land inside
the city of Köln, in order to perform a scan of a defined part of the waste land.
The field was photographed in parts of 30 x 30 cm squares. Thus, micro structures like
plants, insects ect. become clearly visible.
Afterwards those single images were combined like satellite images into an overall view,
that can be uploaded to online globes like OpenStreetMap or Google Earth, showing a
wilderness that is part of the city but stays in the context of maps an unknown terrain.
