WE-HD iGEM2010: The supermarket of synthetic biology! (working title)

The synthetic biology supermarket is a public engagement project being developed for the iGEM competition 2010.
It aims to create an awareness for presence and possible futures of synthetic biology products by putting already existing and far-out in the future applications next to each other on the shelfs of a fictional synthetic biology supermarket.
The supermarket will be developed as webshop and a physical display for the igem competition. A compilation of goods that are already commercially available will be presented and explained alongside with products inspired by previous igem projects and products developed by the students.
Ideally, the format will be developed into an ongoing and open platform for new products and product speculation in the area of synthetic biology reaching beyond iGEM 2010.
