3D-Print Lab:
// How to Access and Use the Lab
Welcome to the IFD 3D-Print Lab! This guide explains how students and staff can gain access, book equipment, and prepare their projects for printing.
// Lab Timetable
Opening Hours: Currently based on demand / individual projects.
Supervised Sessions: Certain machines are only available during staff-supervised hours.
Please check the online calendar for the most up-to-date schedule.
// Who Can Use the Lab?
Access is granted only to users who have completed the mandatory technical introduction and safety briefing.
Authorized users will receive login credentials for the booking system.
Visitors or non-trained students may enter only under staff supervision.
// File Submission
Files must be prepared in STL or 3MF formats. Users are responsible for checking scale, orientation, and supports before submission.
Staff may review your file for approval before printing.
// Booking a Printer
All bookings must be made via the online calendar (link will be sent to approved users).
Only authorized users can log in and reserve a machine.
Bookings must include:
Printer (Prusa / Bambulab)
Estimated print duration
File name and project purpose
Each user may hold up to 2 active bookings at a time to ensure fair access.
// Before Your Print
Arrive 10 minutes before your booking. Cancelations must be communicated as soon as possible to the lab staff.
Check in with lab staff if required.
Bring your Thoska with some money in it. You will need it to pay for your print at the Lab-Kasse.
Stay for the first 15 minutes of the print to confirm it is running properly.
