Project:
I want to explore Samuel Becketts 1981 televised play 'Quad' which consists of four actors in the colours red, blue, white and yellow fixed in a loop. Each actor is accompanied by a sound, which creates no rhythm or melody. The actors walk in sync, and are bound together by invisible lines.
To do this:
Explore ways to make the bodies movement trigger sounds (different sound for each person) I have seen people use a Kinect 2 running with MaxMSP to accomplish this. I will have to access four different coloured robes, all capable of producing a high contrast with the background.
(Insert image of space where i will shoot video)
(insert image illustrated with characters that will be represented on screen)

An illustrated representation of the placement and movement of the figures. "Once inside the square, they are condemned to monotonously and synchronously pace the respectively six steps of the lengthwise and diagonal lines it contains, in part accompanied by varying drumbeat rhythms. The mathematical precision and choreography is made possible by the exactness of the timing. Choreographic variation is confined to the number of performers, and the resultant changes in colour constellations." "Rudolf Frieling"

First attempt at building a colour tracking patch. It works surprisingly well considering the lack of contrast in the video File:ColourTracker.mp4
(Explore colour tracker further, also have a sound trigger)
Work i'm exploring:
Student Felix Geith piece 'Soundscape Installation' sets to enhance augmented sounds which are present within the environment to begin with aka (Bedroom). Investigating the spatialisation of sounds.
Funda Zeynep Ayguler 'eye tracker' piece https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SswayKs9XtE
Another interesting piece using MaxMSP to play the paino https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ejd-39TEf68
Japanese artist Tokujin Yoshioka made a piece called 'Hermes' in 2009 which explores nature and automations co-existence https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyNHJQzn3pw&list=LL&index=6
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6BjaYXkjO0&list=LL&index=17 'Light, Presence, Red and Blue' (created with MaxMSP and Ableton)
Further explore artists + research
Homework 1:
Feedback delay + loops (first patch)
A very basic audio feedback delay. It is interesting to discover new objects and their uses
Homework 2:
Exploring matrices and their response to colours.
Homework 3:
