The term "Upcycling" describes a process in which old products are given | The term "Upcycling" describes a process in which old products are given additional value by modification or transformation. The technology of screenprinting allows us to print on a large variety of materials. Since a few years the Department of Interface Design has been involved with printed electronics, this semester we want to test conductive ink on discarded objects to create a new value for them. | ||
In this class we will talk about the characteristics and possibilities of printed electronics in general, we will learn and apply the basics of screenprinting, and take a look at what kind of objects can be printed on, using a silkscreen and conductive ink. (This class is no substitute for the introductory courses of the university's print workshop, as we focus only on printed electronics!) | In this class we will talk about the characteristics and possibilities of printed electronics in general, we will learn and apply the basics of screenprinting, and take a look at what kind of objects can be printed on, using a silkscreen and conductive ink.
