There are a couple of communities, the largest is http://www.geocaching.com. They should have a free (light/basic/starter) app that you should download. There’s also a “Pro” app for 10$, which you do **NOT** need for a first test. (though it’s pretty nice if you love Geocaching).

Preliminary Instructions

Geocaching Brunnen.png

There are a couple of communities, the largest is http://www.geocaching.com. They should have a free (light/basic/starter) app that you should download. There’s also a “Pro” app for 10$, which you do **NOT** need for a first test.

Alternatives are:

  • search for caches on geocaching.com and print them out on paper. This way you have an analog “offline” version. You just need a GPS based app that allows you to enter coordinates in various formats and can guide you to these coordinates! Please make sure you have such an app installed!
  • http://www.opencaching.com, although there’s just one cache listed quite outside of Weimar (so this is mainly FYI)
  • Bring some small things to trade (not necessary, but increases the fun)
  • (Don’t forget pen & paper, some caches need some accessories, e.g. a bottle, a UV torch or whatever. Make sure you read this beforehand).
