WRITING CONSULTATION: We are now offering 45-minute individual consultations with our experienced coach (apl.) Prof. Dr. Peter Braun from the Writing Center at the Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena.
The offer on academic writing for doctoral candidates and PostDocs of all disciplines at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar aims at the comprehensible structure and argumentation of a thesis, the methodical procedure, the writing process, the structuring of work and time and much more that belongs to writing. Advice can be offered in German or English, depending on your needs.

LANGUAGE COACHING: Our programme still offers "Language Coaching" in English - a 45-minute individual consultation with a native speaker trainer for doctoral candidates and PostDocs of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar who are working on their academic projects as non-native speakers of English.

On the occasion of the investiture of Prof. Peter Benz, the Kick-Off Program of the Presidium was published. It defines the focal points of the work in the coming months and years and names measures and milestones that are to be realized before 2023. The program is at the same time the call to all university members, the future of the Bauhaus Universität Weimar to actively shape and design.

The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) has formulated initial guidelines for dealing with generative models for text and image creation. A statement now published by the Executive Committee of the largest research funding organisation and central self-governing organisation for science and the humanities in Germany sheds light on the influence of ChatGPT and other generative AI models on science and the humanities and on the DFG’s funding activities. As a starting point for continuous monitoring and support, the paper seeks to provide guidance for researchers in their work as well as for applicants to the DFG and those involved in the review, evaluation and decision-making process. read more ...
