First Ever »Bauhaus Colloquium for Emerging Researchers« Brings Next Generation of Researchers Together

On 5 and 6 March, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s Pro.Doc Doctoral Council hosted the first ever »Bauhaus Colloquium for Emerging Researchers«. The two-day conference offered doctoral candidates and up-and-coming scientists from various disciplines the chance to present their research approaches and, more importantly, exchange ideas on methodologies.

The conference focussed on interdisciplinary exchange concerning research methods. The 21 seleceted contributions reflected the thematic diversity represented by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar – from architecture, art and design to civil engineering and urbanism to media and communication studies. Thanks to Prof. Dr. Daniela Spiegel and Prof. Peter Benz for their insights, and to the two keynote speakers, Prof. Dr. Mona Mahall and Jun.-Prof. Dr. Lars Abrahamczyk!

POSTER SESSION | Tag der Ingenieurwissenschaften - 17.06.2026

Research in Focus: Get out of the lab!
Join us for the »Tag der Ingenieurwissenschaften« at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar on 17 June 2026
This event is more than just an exhibition – it’s an opportunity to play an active role in shaping the network between Thuringia’s universities.

Bringing together the brightest minds in Thuringian engineering for a day full of ideas, discussion and new contacts. Whether you’re looking for fresh perspectives on your data or want to see what research is being done in other departments, this is the ideal place for docotoral candidates.

  • The deal: You provide the research in A0 poster format, we provide the platform (and the printer!).
  • Deadline 1: Send your title, short abstract and contact details by 11 May to dezernat.forschung[at]uni-weimar.de.
  • Deadline 2: Send us your final poster design by 31 May – we’ll take care of the central printing so that everything is ready in time.

Wanted: the FAIRest dataset in Thuringia

Have you or your research group published a dataset that complies with the FAIR principles? Then take part in the 7th FAIRest Dataset Award! The TKFDM will award a prize of up to €2,000 to the dataset that best implements the FAIR principles.

The FAIR principles help improve the findability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability of research data. The winners will have the opportunity to present their institution and their project during the online award ceremony in June 2026.

Terms and Conditions
From 15 February to 15 April 2026, all researchers at Thuringian universities have the opportunity to submit their published datasets.

Terms and conditions can be found here.

Would you like to check how FAIR your published data is before submitting?
