11.03.2026: DFG-Förderangebote für Postdocs

UTOPIAN THINKING Encouraged!

The Gerda Henkel Foundation is funding 50 research projects on visions of the future and possibilities for shaping it in its »Prospect Utopia« program, with up to €50,000 each for researchers in the post-doctoral phase.

“We want to encourage people to contrast descriptions and analyses of a present that is often perceived as dystopian with reflections on future possibilities and potential,” – says Dr. Mathias Winde from the Gerda Henkel Foundation.

Researchers from all disciplines are invited to develop utopian ideas, work in an interdisciplinary manner, and also use alternative forms of presentation. Application deadline for stage 1: April 15, 2026

For Women in Science 2026

Every year, this program supports four early-career female scientists working in Germany with prize money totaling €25,000. In Germany, the partners are the German UNESCO Commission, L'Oréal Germany, and the German Humboldt Network. The program seeks outstanding female scientists in the natural sciences or STEM subjects: post-docs, junior professors or other academic positions without a tenure in the four+two years following their first doctorate.

The key selection criterion is the scientific excellence of the applicants. Special commitment to the “third mission” is taken into account in the assessment of research excellence.

Application deadline: February 21, 2026

Körber Stiftung German Thesis Award 2026
The competition is open to early-career researchers from all disciplines who have submitted an exceptional dissertation with significant social relevance in 2025. It features three main prizes of €25,000 each, making it one of the most prestigious awards for early-career researchers in Germany. This prize encourages early-career researchers to emphasize the social impact of their work and to engage in public discussions on the topic.

Apply until 1st of March.

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA PF) are for researchers holding a PhD who wish to: conduct their own research project abroad; acquire new skills; and develop their careers; under the supervision of a more experienced researcher. Candidates have to choose between two types of MSCA PFs: European fellowships, and Global Fellowships.

Digital Discussion Sessions: »From Process to Aesthetic: Mediating Modernity across Cinema and Print« | 23-24.04.2026

How did modernist design ideal spread beyond Europe? And what did they come to mean in South Asian media cultures? This question forms the foundation of the »From Process to Aesthetic: Recontextualizing Modernism in South Asia through Cinema, Print, and Object-Oriented Ontology« (2025–26) research project. Funded by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s research workshop initiative, the project focusses on architecture, media, and material aesthetics and consistently examines modernism from a postcolonial perspective.
