In the second Radio Talk of this semester the musician and artist Warrick Swinney will present his essay »Sealed trains and the Palisades of Culture«. He discusses his travels and music concerts in the Soviet Union and former East Germany during the late 1980s. His historic – sometimes amusing, sometimes tragic – anecdotes will be accompanied by musical compositions.
Product design graduate Felix Sittner has been awarded a support in the »Publication« category of the German Design Graduates 2022 (GDG). His recyclable, circular school backpack »Loopy« will be supported by the platform for child-friendly design »afilii«.
»Kritzelkiste – Der Illustrationspodcast« heißt die Bachelorarbeit von Hannes Naumann im Studiengang Visuelle Kommunikation. Im Interview mit Zeichner*innen spricht er nicht nur über die Arbeit, Techniken und Inspirationen, sondern auch über die Hürden, denen man in der Branche begegnet und das Thema Geld. Eine Besonderheit des Formates ist der »Plot Twist«, eine geheimnisvolle Kiste, die in den Gesprächen eine interessante Rolle spielt.

Under the title »HOME ZONE – Francis Zeischegg & Friends«, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar gallery, which currently resides in the rooms of the Kunsthaus Erfurt, presents the works of long-time the lecturer of the Faculty of Art and Design. On display will be works from the past ten years, which will be set in relation to works by »friends«, students and colleagues who have influenced Francis Zeischegg.
The international students of the master’s degree programme “Art in Public Space and New Artistic Strategies” are contributing to the »NORDOST SÜDWEST / NORTHEAST SOUTHWEST« art project in an event entitled »DIS/ORIENTING«. This involves the students spending two weeks in Dresden developing artistic works and initiatives dedicated to questions of migration, borders, belonging and traces of post-colonialism and de-colonialism in a complex present.
All four faculties at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar have elected new faculty management. The new deans have been appointed by the President and will serve a three-year term at the university until the beginning of the 2025 winter semester.
