In der Fortsetzung der performativ ausgerichteten Veranstaltungsreihe setzen sich bis Samstag, 28. Oktober 2023, die Material Girls Stella Dragovic, Cora Groos, Celine Loesche mit den Materialien Sand, Wasser und Gips auseinander. Zu weiteren Performances sind die Künstler*innen Tobias Gassert, Eva Girzalsky, Marie Salcedo Horn, (Anne)-Fleur Ising und Diana Karle eingeladen.

The documentary »Einhundertvier« (One Hundred Four) by Media Art and Design student Jonathan Schörnig brings this dramatic situation closer from the perspective of the rescuers. The 93-minute documentary is now celebrating its premiere in the German Competition of DOK Leipzig, the International Festival for Documentary and Animation Film. On Friday, 29 September 2023, we opened the fifth and thus last episode of the exhibition series »POWER HOUSE«, which takes place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the first Bauhaus exhibition in the Schiller Museum Weimar. Radio in Germany is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2023. To mark this occasion, the artistic research project »Listening to the World – 100 Years of Radio« is exploring listening as a global phenomenon. Sound artists and researchers as well as radio practitioners and theorists came together in Montevideo (March 2023) and Manila/Sagada (August 2023) to examine the past, present and future of regional and transregional listening during workshops. On 21 and 22 October 2023, the preliminary outcomes of the cooperative project between the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Goethe-Institut and Deutschlandfunk Kultur will now be presented at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) in Berlin.
Am Freitag, 22. September 2023, 16 Uhr, beschließt die vierte Episode der Jubiläumsausstellung »POWER HOUSE« im Schiller-Museum ihre Laufzeit mit einer besonderen Veranstaltung: Die partizipative Klangperformance »walk in waves« des Kollektivs »rundfunkorchestra« bezieht sowohl die Besucher*innen als auch den gesamten Ausstellungsraum ein. Das technische Herzstück der Performance, der »Funkstern Plus«, wurde jüngst vom Freistaat Sachsen ausgezeichnet. Interessierte sind herzlich eingeladen, sich zu beteiligen.

With their joint Bachelor’s thesis on a type of low-emission biocement entitled »The Essence of Biocement«, the two Produktdesign (Product Design) alumni of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar have reached the international selection round of the renowned James Dyson Award as runners-up in the Germany-wide competition. Each year, the competition calls on innovative students and recent graduates of product and industrial design and engineering degree programs worldwide to submit pioneering projects.
