Since January 2024 and for the next three years, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is working together with the Technische Universität Berlin and twelve other European organisations on the joint project "LAUDS Factories". The aim of the initiative is to create a sustainable model for digital manufacturing. While most of the partner organisations are contributing their technical and entrepreneurial knowledge, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is adding its artistic perspective. The first workshop will now take place in Berlin on Friday, 10 May 2024.
The performance collective »Material Girls« will open its third exhibition on Tuesday, 7 May 2024, 7 p.m., with a performance entitled »Material.Mud« - this time in the exhibition space »11m3« at Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 16. In the continuation of the performative series of events, the Material Girls Stella Dragovic, Cora Groos, Celine Loesche will deal with the material »mud«.

Tollkühne Pilot*innen können auch in diesem Jahr um die Trophäen in den Disziplinen »Style« und »Speed« ringen, wenn sie ihre Gefährte die Windmühlenstraße hinunter lenken.
Vom 25. bis 26. Oktober 2024 lädt die Professur »Geschichte, Theorie und Ästhetik materialer Kulturen« zur Tagung »Working Matter – Aktivitätsmodelle und Geschichte der Arbeit« ein. Ab sofort und bis zum 26. Mai 2024 können Beiträge vorgeschlagen werden, die im Verhältnis von Aktivitätsdiskursen und Arbeitsgeschichte nach wechselseitigen Anschluss- oder Absetzbewegungen suchen. Der Call richtet sich an Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen und etablierte Forscher*innen.

Markus Weisbeck, Professor of Graphic Design in the Visual Communication degree programme, has designed the visual identity of the Canadian Pavilion at the Biennale di Venezia. The graphic concept visualises parts of a work by the artist Kapwani Kiwanga.

From 24 April to 11 June 2024, students and external artists are exhibiting works that explore the possibilities of a new beginning under the title »zero is the moon«.
