... There's no such thing as a practice run at the Faculty of Art and Design
Since the Faculty of Art and Design was established in 1993, project work has remained the focus of instruction, ensuring that knowledge and skills are taught where they are needed most. No practice runs, just real tests on real cases. This form of instruction is true to the Weimar model -- interdisciplinary in scope and combining practice and science in all artistic and design-related disciplines: Fine Art, Product-Design, Visual Communication and Teaching Qualification (Secondary Education) in Art Education. As the accredited art college of the Free State of Thuringia, the Faculty of Art and Design provides instruction to 650 students and represents the artistic and design-oriented interests in instruction and research. Thanks to a high degree of homogeneity, the Faculty is able to offer a seamless, three-tiered educational structure with all academic degrees (Diplom, Bachelor and Master of Fine Art) as well as a PhD in Art and Design/Fine Art/Media Art.

Sechster Vortrag der Ringvorlesung zur Medienphilosophie: »Ästhetik und Philosophie medialer Praktiken«
Die von der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar veranstaltete Vorlesungsreihe bringt weiterhin wichtige und profilierte Vertreter und Kritiker der Medienphilosophie aus Weimar und ganz Deutschland zusammen, um ein weites Panorama des aktuellen Diskussionsstandes zu geben. Am 29. Mai 2012 um 19 Uhr spricht Gertrud Koch (Berlin) zum Thema »Perspektivität des Filmischen: Technik und Metapher der Perspektive« im Hörsaal C der Marienstraße 13 C.
