Project description

To research upon the themes, the ‘PostCompost’ Project makes a laboratory of the "EOW-Gelände". The industrial ruin EOW (Elektroinstallation Oberweimar) is a complex at the southern end of the Ilmpark that was once a factory for the production of industrial lamps. One discussed future is the “renaturalization” of the space, demolishing the buildings, pulling up the concrete, and giving the ground back to nature. The team behind the Project are 17 Bauhaus-University students that feel the need to engage with left-behind spaces, bring a critical eye to “renaturalization”, broaden their own and their community’s perspectives and artistic strategies. Monitoring ecological processes, speculating about the future, discourse analysis and artistic processing of the space - physically and mentally - is the essence of the research process.

We invite you to a speculative field exploration with site-specific installations, subjective mapping, performances and participatory exercises. For more information on our programme, please visit postcompost.art
