Projektbeschreibung
Through the course of this project we explored different aspects of where ubiquitous and smart technology can help with providing physical safety. Starting with looking at various definitions of safety and drawing the potential list of application areas and technologies involved, students arrived to four different topics of focus. Through participatory HCI research methods students in groups of two conducted studies and came to theoretical and practical findings that deepen the understanding of technology for safety in the areas of wearable technology for international students, the usability of alarm buttons in SOS apps in the context of domestic violence, safety technology for women’s solo journeys and safety technology for pets and their owners.
