»English Intensive Course«
Our intensive language training programme is an effective method to learn English in small groups. Courses will be taught by native-speaking instructors from Great Britain, the USA, Australia, New Zealand or Canada. Regardless of whether you are an intermediate or advanced student, or whether you would like to sign up for 50 hours in two weeks or 100 hours in four weeks: We have the right course for you! The programme is the perfect way to prepare for a degree programme or internship abroad.
The goal of these language courses is to help you improve your listening, reading, writing and speaking skills, and learn, practice and expand your vocabulary and knowledge of grammar and phonetics. The courses strongly emphasise active communication in the foreign language. The instructors will also give presentations about various foreign countries, their people and cultures. And of course we want to hear about your personal goals and interests for the course.
Please note that we do not offer English courses for beginners (A1/A2).
We are looking forward to seeing you and wish you an exciting and rewarding summer!
Please mind that the registration deadline for language courses is 15 June.
Please contact us if you would like personal consultation. We will be happy to help you.
(1) English Communication Skills: Presentations and Negotiations (B1-C1) | 6 - 18 August
The first part of this 2-week course aims to train specific skills required for giving presentations and informal talks in English: how to introduce oneself, maintain a clear structure, interact with an audience, use visual media, deal with questions, etc. The second part will focus on developing the language skills required for successful negotiations in a variety of contexts. The atmosphere will be relaxed and informal throughout, helping participants break down any inhibitions they may feel about speaking in public.
An oral placement test will take place at the beginning of the course.
(2) English for Academic Purposes (B2-C1) | 20 August - 1 September
This 2-week course will concentrate on written English in an academic context. The workshop nature of the course will encourage participants to produce short texts on a variety of subjects and to use them as a basis for identifying areas of difficulty and working on them constructively. The course will also provide useful tips on aspects such as style, structure and coherence. In addition, participants will be encouraged to develop effective strategies for reading academic texts in English. The approach will be creative and informal, encouraging participants to share ideas and learn from each other’s work.
Should your level prove to be below B2, you will be placed in a General English course.
(1 & 2) English Course (B1-C1) | 6 August - 1 September
You can also combine the two two-week courses to a four-week course.
